- In the Phase I construction of this new college campus, To Design provided planting design services to the project team.
- The primary design components - mass plantings, boulders, and indigenous trees – were introduced to reinforce and emphasizes the riverfront setting.
- Students and visitors alike now see what might have been a stereotypical campus transformed into an ecologically diverse, living landscape.
To Design was part of a project team that had the extraordinary opportunity to develop a new college campus on the Connecticut River. This brownfield site was developed to accommodate academic, administrative and library buildings, as well as a student center and dormitories. A deep water riverfront docking and research facility with walking trails was also planned. Goodwin College also plans to ultimately develop an environmental research program in conjunction with Riverfront Recapture and the Science Center of Connecticut.
