- Comprehensive system-wide parks signage
- Adaptable for widespread use
- Standardized city wayfinding
Project Details
In 2016, a cohesive, comprehensive signage program was developed to identify, brand, and unify the diverse properties that form the Hartford Park System. The signage types included different prototypes that could be used throughout the City of Hartford parks to communicate park history, maps, directional information, site amenities, park regulations, and educational/environmental information to residents and park visitors.
The first signs were installed at George Day Park and Sigourney Square Park.
Currently, Landscape Designer Mary Dehais is working with the City of Hartford, numerous park organizations, and Allied Signage to design, construct, and install new, comprehensive, and attractive signage for the next phase of the project. When complete in Spring 2020, new signage will be installed in 40 parks across the city.
