In The Works: Little Plain Park

July 12th, 2021

We're excited to work on the restoration of this historic 19th century cast iron fence located in Little Plain Park within the Little Plain Historic District in Norwich.

The Little Plain Historic District, known for its wide range of architectural styles, became a desirable location in the late 18th century and onward due to its proximity to the thriving port area of Norwich. The Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, and Italianate houses along Union Street and Broadway can give one a sense of time-travel, recalling the prosperity of the growing merchant class in the late 18th and 19th centuries.

Little Plain Park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and in 1987 expanded the district to abut the Downtown Norwich Historic District.

We're honored to be able to contribute to maintaining the intricate history of this area. Check back soon for project updates!
