For the City of New Britain, TO Design, LLC produced plans and specifications for the rehabilitation of four veteran’s memorials, including the iconic World War Memorial in Walnut Hill Park, designed by Architect Martin Van Buren Magonigle in 1929. Other memorials included New Britain’s Spanish American War obelisk and two neighborhood monuments to residents who served in World War II. Repairs included bronze plaque replacements, repointing, and cleaning.
Many ornamental elements of the World War Memorial were missing, so in order to reproduce them, Magonigle’s original design plans had to be consulted.
