- Renovation and Expansion
- New Site Amenities
- Parent and Bus Dropoff Areas
Project Details
The North Stonington Public Schools campus was too large for the town's declining population of high, middle, and elementary school students. To Design was responsible for redesigning and consolidating the campus to exist on only one side of the busy Connecticut Route 2.
The high school and middle schools were relocated to one building that used to serve as administrative offices. The elementary school buildings will be consolidated into one renovated building. To Design redesigned parent and bus drop-off areas for both schools, as well as parking for staff and students. Site amenities such as lighting, planting, and accessibility to playgrounds and fields were designed to aid the student population. Handicap accessibility is provided to the classroom facilities and outdoor amenities.
The middle and high school building is complete, while the elementary school is currently under construction.
