Multiple New Project Wins

December 17th, 2020

2021 is already looking bright for To Design, as this past fall we've secured multiple project wins. We're excited to get started!

Holyoke Civil War Monument Restoration

We recently won the contract for the restoration plans of the “Lady Liberty” Civil War monument in Holyoke, MA in collaboration with Conserve Art LLC. The monument honors the 55 citizens of Holyoke who died during the war and is an important figure in the town’s historical identity. We have expertise in preserving historic sites, as well as providing plans for monument restoration.

the Mary and Eliza freeman houses

To Design is proud to be working with Northeast Collaborative Architects on improvements to the historic Freeman Houses in Bridgeport. These homes are the last surviving examples of the Little Liberia community and are evidence of African American life prior to Emancipation. These irreplaceable buildings are the oldest houses built by African Americans in the State of Connecticut. To Design will be providing ADA accessibility to the homes and other site improvements.

MONROE SENIOR HOUSING

Landscape Architect Emily Weckman recently presented a new project, Monroe Senior Housing, at the December Inland Wetlands meeting for the town of Monroe. The proposed development will provide 49 units of affordable housing to the senior community. Along with leading the Inland Wetland approval process, To Design provided site design in collaboration with Crosskey Architects

POPE PARK T-ball Field and Batting Cages

We're excited to be providing design and construction administration for the construction of a new t-ball/coach pitch field at Pope Park for the City of Hartford. This project follows a master plan produced for the park and will be dedicated to young children learning how to play baseball. We will also be providing plans to add batting cages to the existing little league field at the park, another renovation project of ours from last year.

MLK HOUSING

We're working with Crosskey Architects again on the new Martin Luther King Housing project in Hartford. To Design will be providing site planning for the new construction that will replace the existing buildings. To Design worked on renovations of the original site 20 years ago!
